Our Story
Founded by Roderick Haenke, a lifelong educator and leadership coach with 25+ years’ experience, IDI delivers practical, research-based programs that help schools excel in finance, compliance, community, and achievement.
Roderick is a recognized education technology leader, national trainer, and award-winning instructional software designer. His experience includes teaching, principalship, founding charter schools, instructional design, and evaluation for state and federal initiatives.

Roderick Haenke is a pioneering education consultant and leadership coach with over 25 years of experience transforming charter schools and driving sustainable improvement. As the founder and Executive Director of Instructional Designs, Inc., he works with charter boards, authorizers, and school leaders to streamline governance, enhance accountability, and deliver lasting results through practical systems and focused training.
A recognized leader in educational technology, Roderick is a national trainer, online learning entrepreneur, and award-winning instructional software designer—best known for his work with MECC, the publisher of Oregon Trail and other iconic programs. He has authored numerous training videos, books, and software, and is an in-demand presenter on how technology and data-driven practices can elevate student engagement and achievement.
Roderick’s background includes roles as a classroom teacher, principal, charter school founder, instructional designer, and evaluator for federal and state initiatives. His strategic guidance helps educational communities simplify challenges, build capacity, and empower both teachers and learners to reach their full potential.
